Florence couple have made many memories in 12-year-old community.
Christy and Jim Skoog have quite an active life. All of their five children have left the house six years ago, but the pair are "not taking it easy."
Christy is the co-owner of Top Flight Gymnastics in Northern Kentucky and Jim is the associate principal at Sycamore High School. The pair have lived in the Florence community of Pleasant Valley Meadows for 12 of the 15 years they have been married.

The couple searched many neighborhoods in Northern Kentucky looking for the perfect house, and they found it through Fischer Homes. According to Christy, "everything fit."
"We just really liked this neighborhood," Christy said. "It felt so much warmer than the other, sometimes more pricey, neighborhoods we saw. We looked at other builders and pre-built homes and nothing else fit like this."
Christy and Jim have enjoyed watching the neighborhood grow through the years, and they have developed many friendships. A neighborhood group of about eight often get together for parties or just to chat. The group even celebrates New Year's Eve together.
Enjoying The Community
Christy said the neighborhood has really matured and "is really beautiful now." They live across from a large lake, and their backyard is very private with mature trees and a hillside. Their family loves this privacy, especially when they all gather to use the pool in the summer.
The Skoogs also spend time entertaining and have had as many as 65 people on the main floor at once. "The downstairs is so open, it was comfortable with 65 people here-and that included a concert pianist."
Christy and Jim plan on retiring in their Pleasant Valley Meadows home and making many more memories. "All of our kids still love this house, too." Christy said. "We have fun with the pool table and the backyard. It's a great house."
