Al and Myrna struck by design of patio home
Al and Myrna Fangman love to travel. They own a houseboat and often head to Florida or California for vacations. When they were looking for a home after getting married in 2005, the couple needed low maintenance and easy, one-floor living.
"We looked at building a three-bedroom home, at condominiums and then at the patio homes," said Al Fangman. "This design just struck my fancy."

Al said he and his wife loved the floor plan, since the den, bedroom and great room were all on the same floor. The Batavia Township neighborhood of Twin Spires at Lexington Run was also a bonus for the Fangmans.
Though the couple travels often, they made time to personalize their new home. After adding a second fireplace to the finished lower level recreation room, they built a wet bar and decorated with a nautical theme to remind them of being on their houseboat.
"We didn't really do that much," Al said. "This home pretty much had everything we were looking for."
Living the Good Life
Al and Myrna have five children and twelve grandchildren between them, and plan on spending a lot of time using the community pool and clubhouse. Al said he can't wait to take the grandchildren on the lake in a little boat.
From their first visit to moving in, Al said he was really pleased with every experience. The walk-through prior to move in left a strong impression on him.
"I was really pleased with how Fischer Homes took us slowly through the walk-through, noticing the smallest imperfections and fixing them right away," Al said. "They really bent over backwards for us."
As Al and Myrna travel throughout the year, for the first time in their lives they aren't worried about coming home to an unmowed lawn, snow on the sidewalk or unraked leaves.
